Keynote Speech Kicks Off Three-Day Cloud Expo at Javits Center in New York

Two Oracle executives, Richard Sarwal and Hazan Rizvi, were set to deliver the opening keynote at the fifth International Cloud Expo at the Javits Center in New York. Their topic will be Cloud Computing's "Coming of Age" as it is increasingly integrated into Enterprise IT in organizations throughout the world. "Enterprise IT must constantly evolve to respond to rapidly changing business requirements and new technologies," they wrote in preparation for the conference. "Cloud computing promises to accelerate that evolution with far-reaching, convergent principles such as self-service, pay-for-use, rapid deployment, elastic scalability and efficient management of physical and virtual environments." Richard Sarwal is SVP of Development for Oracle Enterprise Manager. He brings more than 18 years of industry experience with a proven track record of database and systems management skills covering the critical areas of scalability, availability and performance, to his role as Senior Vice President of Product Development for Oracle Corporation. Sarwal is responsible for the development of all aspects of Enterprise Systems Management covering all products—OS, Database, Middleware, Applications - including Provisioning, Patching, Configuration Management, Performance and Application Service Level Management. Prior to joining Oracle in 1989, he began his career as a programmer, DBA and systems engineer.
Hasan Rizvi is Senior Vice President of Oracle Fusion Middleware Products. He is responsible for Oracle's SOA, Application Server, Communications and Identity Management and Security product development, product management and architecture. Previously he was vice president of Oracle Enterprise Manager responsible for the company's Data Center Automation products. Prior to returning to Oracle in 2001, izvi was VP of Engineering for Corio, Inc. where he led the development of key technologies to enable efficient delivery of software as a service. Prior to that, he served as director of OLTP technologies for Oracle, where he was instrumental in development of transaction processing, messaging and queuing and high-end scalability technologies for Oracle Database products.
