Two Oracle executives, Richard Sarwal and Hazan Rizvi, were set to deliver the opening keynote at the fifth International Cloud Expo at the Javits Center in New York.
Their topic will be Cloud Computing's "Coming of Age" as it is increasingly integrated into Enterprise IT in organizations throughout the world.
"Enterprise IT must constantly evolve to respond to rapidly changing business requirements and new technologies," they wrote in preparation for the conference. "Cloud computing promises to accelerate that evolution with far-reaching, convergent principles such as self-service, pay-for-use, rapid deployment, elastic scalability and efficient management of physical and virtual environments."
"What are the key enabling technologies? What is the role of management systems for cloud computing? How can complex, multi-tier applications be packaged and deployed on clouds? This keynote will explore how enterprise IT can evolve to a cloud computing model, building on a foundation of grid computing, virtualization and management automation."
The keynote will be joined by eight separate tracks on the conference program, covering Moving to the Cloud; Enterprise and the Cloud; Security, Management, and Compliance; The Cloud from All Angles; Virtualization; Performance and Standards; Security and Compliance; and several Hot Topics.
