IBM & Red Hat Will Reportedly Join OpenStack
Apparently RH got over some of its qualms about Rackspace’s control of the project

IBM and Red Hat are supposed to step out of the background and officially join the OpenStack movement.

According to GigaOm, they could sign up this week or next week at the OpenStack Spring Conference.

IBM was on a list of contributors to the open source cloud project in February. Red Hat reportedly did a lot of the packaging for the new Essex release of OpenStack that should make it easier to bundle in Linux distributions like Fedora and Ubuntu.

Apparently Red Hat got over some of its qualms about Rackspace’s control of the project with the development of the OpenStack Foundation and the promise of a board.

Red Hat has its own OpenShift PaaS running Java, Perlm PHP, Python,

Ruby and Node.js apps on Amazon and CloudForms to set up and run private cloud with JBoss.
