Frisco Kicks Off Wassail Days with A Shorter Dash for More Cash
Town of Frisco's annual holiday celebration, Wassail Days runs Dec. 8-16

FRISCO, Colo., Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Town of Frisco is hosting its annual Wassail Days, Dec. 8 – 16, 2012, a week packed with events to celebrate the holiday season. This year Frisco will host the 2nd annual Santa Dash, but it will be a Shorter Dash for MORE Cash! It will be a 6 block fun run for the whole family with one caveat: runners must dress in their best Santa gear to grab stockings full of cash at the end of the race.

Shorter Dash for More Cash will kick off Wassail Days on Dec. 8th at 3 pm. In addition to the Santa Dash, there will also be a FREE day in Frisco to experience the Frisco Adventure Park Tubing Hill, Frisco Nordic Ski Center and Frisco Sleigh Rides all on Dec. 13. Other events during the holiday celebration include Santa's Calling, Victorian Wassail Night at the Museum, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Best in the West Chili Cook-off, Breakfast with Santa and the Lil' Rascals Rail Jam and Fireworks. This year's Wassail Days are sure to bring out the holiday spirit in anyone. Here's the schedule:

  • 12/8:
    3 pm - Shorter Dash for MORE Cash (Main Street)
    4 pm - Tree Lighting Ceremony (Frisco Gazebo)
    5-7 pm - Best in the West Chili Contest (Frisco Adventure Park Lodge)
  • 12/11:
    6 pm - Santa's Calling - Santa makes his special calls to good boys and girls.
  • 12/12:
    4-7 pm - Victorian Wassail Night (Frisco Historic Museum)
  • 12/13:
    10 am -1:30 pm - FREE Tubing (Frisco Adventure Park) Call for Reservations: 970-668-2558
    10 am-4 pm - FREE Nordic Ski Day ( Frisco Nordic Center) Rental equipment and lessons are available, call: 970-668-0866

To register for Santa Dash – Shorter Dash for More Cash, runners should visit www.wassaildays.com. Once registered, participants will receive a Frisco Santa shirt, Santa hat, and a 50% of Tubing voucher good at  the Frisco Adventure Park tubing hill through Dec 16, 2012. Naughty or nice, every paid participant receives cash. No matter how fast you are, you could walk away with the Benjamins. 

Whether you're interested in tubing or just want to warm up with some delicious chili, the Frisco Adventure Park lodge will host the Best in the West Chili Contest from 5-7 pm after the Santa Dash. Amateur and professional chili chefs will serve their best chili recipes to win prizes and bragging rights. Wassail Days wouldn't be complete without the Wassail competition. Participating retailers along Main Street will offer homemade Wassail, a delicious mixture of cider and spices. Shoppers can vote for their favorite Wassail recipe. Voting closes Dec. 16.
