Professor Shalini Urs gave a warm welcome to the enthusiastic audience, and outlined her long-term vision for MYRA, and the challenges of setting up a Business School in India.

Dean Rajiv Sinha gave an impassioned speech on the need for quality management education in India, stating that "Indian students need to be exposed to global issues and one of the important things for us is to expose them to world class talent. The key concept of MYRA is very simple - we want to take the best students in India and expose them to world-class faculty".

Padma Bhushan Deepak Parekh's enlightening and inspiring speech on the importance of ethics and integrity in the current global business landscape was very well received and he expressed his confidence in how "the MYRA School of Business is creating a platform to develop future business leaders of India with a social consciousness".

Dr. Sunil Sharma focussed on the importance of syncing learning with the current business scenario wherein the private and public realms are increasingly intertwined and his belief in MYRA's curriculum to stimulate interest in having a deeper understanding of local, country-specific, regional, and global business concerns.

Professor Raghav Rao shared his thoughts on the need for a re-thinking of management education in India due to dramatic shifts in technology and the social environment and how MYRA is "uniquely placed to be at the forefront of management research with its global faculty, wonderful location and collaborative enterprise."

Professor Mohan Gopalakrishnan spoke about how MYRA embodies, through its faculty, innovative curriculum, and avant-garde campus, "the spirit of "change" and on behalf of all MYRA faculty, he expressed his enthusiasm for teaching at MYRA in the years to come.

Indian and international academics were in attendance, along with corporates, public figures, prospective students and the community at large - all of who enthusiastically came together to witness MYRA's transition from the phase of bold vision into successful reality.

It was a historic celebration and a notable day not only in the life of the MYRA School of Business, and Mysore, but throughout the whole landscape of higher education in India.

Mr. Kantharaj Urs gave the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the trustees of MYRA. He gave special mention to the architects, who designed the building being formally inaugurated on that day.
