Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

New Direct Flights from New York EWR to Jackson, WY Provide Tri-State Travelers With Western Skiing This Winter
The new non-stop flights offer travelers in New York and its surrounding cities with a quick, easy way to access one of the West's most iconic winter skiing destinations: Jackson Hole.

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo., Nov. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Non-stop flights out of Newark (EWR) provide skiers and snowboarders flying to Jackson Hole with shorter travel times and more options to experience everything the Rocky Mountain resort town has to offer. The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, recently voted #1 in the categories of Overall Satisfaction, Character and Most Challenging Terrain by SKI magazine readers, is only 30 minutes away from the terminal at the Jackson Hole airport (JAC).  Accessibility to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has always been an attractive aspect of traveling to Jackson, and these new direct flights make arriving and departing that much easier.

United made the decision to increase flights to Jackson following the tremendous success of the 2011-2012 Jackson Hole winter ski season. Early winter storms in Jackson have already left the area with several feet of fresh "cowboy powder" and the area is preparing for another excellent snow season.  East Coast travelers interested in taking advantage of United's new direct flight can catch a plane to Jackson everyday from December 19th through January 2, 2013. Following those dates, United will offer a weekly flight on Saturday from February 9 through March 30, 2013.

Although Jackson is internationally known as a winter ski destination, the town and its surrounding area offer visitors with much more than just hitting the slopes in your average Rocky Mountain ski town.  The community rests at the base of the majestic Teton Mountains within Grand Teton National Park and is a short drive to Yellowstone, the nation's first National Park. Additionally, other winter activities like touring the National Elk Refuge, snowmobiling, dog sledding and snowshoeing are available to visitors.

"The diversity of the winter travel experience is what sets Jackson Hole apart from other western ski communities," said Edye Smith, General Manager of Jackson Hole Central Reservations. "Our winter guests often return year after year not only because they enjoy the culture of Jackson, but also because there are simply too many unique things to see and do here in just one vacation. Hopefully these new direct flights, combined with one of the air-inclusive travel packages we offer, will open up affordable opportunities for travelers in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to discover why Jackson Hole is such an amazing winter destination."
