Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

CTIA-The Wireless Association Highlights the Power of Wireless for Philanthropy and Community Empowerment in the December Edition of "Wonder of Wireless"

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wireless technology creates many dramatic transformations for all industries and sectors, from healthcare to education and nonprofit organizations to rural communities. CTIA-The Wireless Association® highlights some of these examples in this month's Wonder of Wireless webcast and on its blog (http://blog.ctia.org).

The Policy Point segment focuses on nonprofit organizations and their increasing interest in using wireless to generate new advocates and potential donors, especially younger people. To highlight some of the nonprofit organizations that are using short codes for donor programs, CTIA asked its staff to nominate its favorite nonprofit by writing 100 words or less on why the nonprofit is important to them, as long as the nonprofit offers short codes for donations. In return, CTIA will donate $100 for each employee's nomination. Throughout December, CTIA will post some of these personal stories on its blog.

Additionally, the Wireless at Work segment takes an in-depth look at a unique community empowering mobile application developed at West Virginia University, Mobile Main Street. Deployed in Tucker County, WV, the mobile publishing tool is being used by nearly 40 local merchants and attractions to better market their products and services via mobile social channels.

In the Insider Interview, The Red Cross Chief Information Officer John Crary discusses how the nonprofit organization is using mobile to better respond daily and in emergency situations to those in need as well as broadcast important safety information. Since wireless technology is something that most Americans are used to relying on, Crary says it's important The Red Cross uses it to engage with donors and those in need.

Finally, Pompano Beach, Florida resident Alexis Stannis is this month's featured Wireless Lifesaver. When she was home alone with her little brother, she heard someone trying to break into her home through a window. She quickly grabbed her brother and her cellphone, locked her bedroom door, hid in the closet and called 911. The police came in time to arrest three teens, including one armed with a knife, who were then linked to another burglary in the neighborhood.  Alexis's quick thinking and calm reaction protected her and her brother while providing justice for the three criminals.
