A juried exhibition of garden design at its best, this international show has been created by leading garden designers, nurseries and horticulturalists, bringing new ideas, green techniques and inspiration within reach of Bay Area gardeners of any interest level. There will be large organic edible garden displays and small space gardens that celebrate the garden-to-table movement. This year there are over 70 DIY workshops and discussion seminars on green topics and new green techniques. For garden and gift shoppers, this year's show features an expanded marketplace to purchase plants, orchids, seeds, tools and unique outdoor items and crafts from over 300 vendors. And for the kids, there's Sproutopia, with fun filled hands-on crafts and learning activities for all ages.

Admission includes all regular seminars and demonstrations. For advanced online ticket sales, seminar schedules, exhibitors and general show information visit www.sfgardenshow.com. Tickets can also be purchased at major Bay Area nurseries and garden centers or by calling 1-888-695-0888 or for tickets and information call 415-684-7278 ext 2.

New this year is the world's largest rotating succulent Globe with over 30,000 succulent plants depicting the seas and continents. Robin Stockwell, from Succulent Gardens in Castroville, has carefully designed, planted and grown this unique exhibit over the last year. "It all comes together for the first time at the Show," Stockwell commented. "We've been growing The Globe in sections for over 6 months, and it's a remarkable and realistic tribute to our living Earth!

An all-new Chef's Stage spotlights a cutting-edge lineup of Bay Area Chefs focused on wine and food made with fresh and sustainable recipes. KQED's "Check, Please" personality and author of "Wine for Women" Leslie Sbrocco discusses tips to experiencing wine. And there is a growing Celebrity roster of cooking demonstrations including Nopa's Chef Laurence Jossel, and Green's Annie Somerville with Green Gulch Farm's Wendy Johnson sharing ingredients and preparation techniques for using locally grown ingredients in seasonal cooking.
