Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Kodak to Drive Discussions around Photo Printing at the International Symposium for Technologies on Digital Photo Fulfillment as part of DIMA 2013
Company Experts to Present Strategies for Creating Hard Output for Memories that Last a Lifetime

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Preserving photographs and memories in the digital era continues to prompt debates and discussions as the number of images taken, stored and shared continues to grow. Against this backdrop, Kodak experts will join a series of panels hosted by the International Symposium for Technologies on Digital Photo Fulfillment, held in Las Vegas, NV, Jan. 6-7, 2013. At the core of the presentations, the Kodak team will reiterate its position that one of the best methods of preserving images continues to be print and that silver halide paper provides the greatest longevity for those printed images.

"As technologies change, the only truly guaranteed method of preserving your photos today and actually being able to look at them in the future is through the printed image," said Christopher Van Zandt, General Manager, Paper and Output Systems and Vice President, Americas Region for Eastman Kodak. "While a digital file allows immediate and broad sharing, that file depends on particular technologies that may become obsolete. If a photograph is printed, and in particular, printed on silver halide paper, the consumer knows that image will last for generations, and in dark storage should last in excess of 200 years. No other method of preserving images can offer that same peace of mind."

With this in mind, Kodak is committed to providing its customers with the broadest set of media substrates, to enable photo printing among professional photographers and consumers. The cornerstone of these offerings providing the highest quality and most trusted media is silver halide paper.

Van Zandt will share recent innovations in the area of silver halide printing, as well as present the case for why this particular media, long known for its quality and durability, should be a lab's first choice for photographic printing. In addition to this panel discussion, Stuart Gordon, Director of Image Permanence, Eastman Kodak Company, will participate in two panel discussions at the conference. First, Gordon will share the technical specifications and demonstrated benefits of these silver halide advancements by Kodak. Second, recognizing the need to offer professional labs complementary media on which to create premium photo products (i.e. photo books), Gordon will present information on all printing technologies available from Kodak today and how to incorporate them to maximize photographic hard copy output.

Collectively, the panelists will showcase how Kodak remains at the forefront of the photo industry and how its professional paper division continues to lead the market with products to create the highest quality, longest lasting photographic prints.

The International Symposium for Technologies on Digital Photo Fulfillment will take place Jan. 6-7, 2013 in Las Vegas, NV as part of DIMA 2013 at Bally's.
