Van's Natural Foods Moves into Grocery Aisles with Certified Gluten-Free Cereals, Crackers and Snack Bars
New products hit store shelves in 2013; new gluten free waffles also added to Van's frozen offerings

VERNON, Calif., Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Van's Natural Foods, the market leader in delicious, better-for-you frozen breakfast foods, brings its healthy eating approach to grocery store shelves with a new line of cereals, crackers and snack bars. Rich in whole grains, including millet, quinoa and amaranth, the new items provide families with great-tasting, nutritious options for breakfast, snacking and meals on the run.

All of Van's cereals, crackers and snack bars are certified gluten free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization, offering easy, nutritious choices with great taste the whole family can enjoy. And, like all Van's choices, these delicious breakfast items and snacks feature healthy ingredients without artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors or preservatives.

Van's Whole Grain Cereals (MSRP: $3.99) have a full serving of whole grains and 5 grams of fiber per serving. Available in Honey Nut Crunch and Cinnamon Heaven, these cereals are made with nutrient-rich whole grains, including gluten free oats, brown rice, millet, quinoa and amaranth. Certified gluten free, Van's cereals offer great taste and satisfying crunch - all without dairy, egg, corn, high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients, hydrogenated oils or GMO oils.

Van's Whole Grain Crackers (MSRP: $2.99) are crispy, delicious and baked with nutrient-rich whole grains, including gluten free oats, brown rice, millet, quinoa and amaranth. Available in three flavors - Multigrain, Lots of Everything! and Say Cheese! - these gluten free crackers are full of flavor and nutrition, with 16 grams of whole grains per serving - and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Van's Whole Grain Snack Bars (MSRP: $4.49) in Chocolate Chip, Cranberry Almond and Peanut Butter Chocolate, are naturally gluten free and baked with nutrient-rich whole grains. With 8-10 grams of whole grains and 4 grams of fiber per serving, they offer more than four times the fiber of other gluten free bars on the market today. Free of artificial ingredients and high fructose corn syrup, Van's Snack Bars are perfect for breakfast on the run, snack time or an anytime treat.

Van's rounds out its latest 2013 offerings with fiber- and whole-grain-rich Gluten Free Ancient Grains Waffles (MSRP: $3.49). Made from a mix of healthy whole grains including brown rice, millet, teff, buckwheat, amaranth, sorghum and quinoa, Gluten Free Ancient Grains Waffles have 32 grams of whole grains - and 6 grams of fiber - per serving. Egg- and dairy-free, this waffle is a deliciously nutritious way to start the day.

"At Van's, we believe nutritious is delicious, and that you don't have to sacrifice great taste to eat well," said Van's Director of Marketing Sarah Meis. "Our new breakfast and snack-time options are so good the whole family will love them whether or not they realize they are gluten free and filled with healthy whole grains and fiber."

The breakfast and snack items will begin appearing in grocery stores in January, with full distribution expected by summer.
