Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Predictix Thinks Differently, Challenges the Status Quo to Give Retailers a Competitive Edge

Predictix will showcase its suite of highly differentiated Planning and Merchandising and Supply Chain solutions this week at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Conference and Expo, booth #975, Jan. 14 and 15. Every aspect of the Predictix approach—from a fundamentally better architecture and science to an adoption-focused implementation approach—is designed to drive significantly better decisions across the retail organization.

Predictix solutions are designed for the mission-critical decisions on the front-end of retail, including Planning, Assortment, Pricing, Promotions, Forecasting and Replenishment. However, unlike rigid, traditional software solutions, Predictix takes a fresh approach by:

  • Offering highly tailored solutions that fit each retailer's unique business model and need.
  • Providing a better understanding of consumer demand as the foundation for smarter decision-making across the entire retail organization.
  • Driving solutions that nimbly evolve as the retailer's business needs change.

Predictix is on the forefront of one of the most important trends in retail today, as retailers seek new answers to their toughest problems in a highly competitive era marked by Big Data, omni-channel retailing, and an intense battle for the customer. As a McKinsey Global Institute article pointed out, "radical customization, constant experimentation, and novel business models will be new hallmarks of competition as companies capture and analyze huge volumes of data"1—an approach that is embraced by Predictix.

The Predictive Adaptive Platform for Intelligent DecisionsTM is at the heart of the Predictix approach, with a cloud-based platform that provides unprecedented scale and the ability to manage, mine and process data volumes that were previously unachievable. The platform includes a component library platform that encompasses unlimited cloud-computing power, predictive analytics combined with the latest forecasting science, and fully configurable processes. The platform drives Predictix' tailored solutions that are uniquely suited to each retailer's purposes and processes and that are designed for rapid user adoption.

As a result, Predictix is helping retailers compete more effectively with solutions that challenge the status quo in retail technology.

For example, the Merchants and Assortment Planning teams at one STORES Top 10 retailer had very different needs for both deciding product/store eligibility for future merchandise seasons, as well as managing the current assortments week-to-week in-season. The retailer had large sets of SKUs/stores to manage but also wanted to give their stores input in their assortment decisions. The retailer selected Predictix as the only vendor that was able to provide a single solution to recommend actions in-season to maximize current assortment performance, while also offering end-to-end pre-season assortment planning.

In another case, a Tier 1 specialty retailer needed to improve its localized assortments and increase inventory turns, encompassing core products, as well as, highly seasonal merchandise with a well-defined selling period. Predictix was able to meet the retailer's precise needs with Predictix Financial Planning, Assortment Planning and Item Planning solutions that can adapt to a complex business model that includes distinct needs across each of the retailer's channels, brands and geographies.

"Predictix is proud to work with some of the most successful and innovative retailers in the industry, and to deliver differentiated solutions that can't be found with any other technology provider," said John Simon, CEO, Predictix. "Predictix dares to think differently, and we look forward to expanding the breadth and capabilities of our solutions even further in 2013 and to helping our Predictix clients compete even more effectively."
