The 42nd Annual Eclipse Awards, presented by the Daily Racing Form, National Thoroughbred Racing Association and National Turf Writers and Broadcasters, celebrates the horses, owners, breeders, trainers, and jockeys whose outstanding achievements in North America have earned them the title of Champion in their respective categories. Eclipse Awards will also be presented to members of the media for outstanding coverage of Thoroughbred racing as well as to the winner of the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship.

"Daily Racing Form is proud to deliver this highly anticipated show to racing fans around the globe," said John Hartig, CEO, Daily Racing Form. "The annual announcement of the Eclipse Award winners and presentation of awards have a tremendous impact on all aspects of the racing industry, not only on the breeding and sales fronts, but also setting up the 2-year-old champions as the leading Kentucky Derby contenders for 2013."

Adds Hartig, "I'm equally proud of my Daily Racing Form colleagues who will take home four of the six Eclipse Awards given to media contributors in recognition of their breakthrough 2012 coverage of Thoroughbred racing."

Following the Eclipse Awards ceremony, Daily Racing Form will be the go-to source for in-depth and exclusive coverage of the winners. On Sunday, January 20, DRF Breeding will post complete pedigree information for all 11 individual horse winners at DRF.com. The Sunday, January 27 issue of the Daily Racing Form Weekend section will also feature an overview of all the Champions as well as profiles on Eclipse Award-winning breeders and owners.

ABOUT The Eclipse Awards
The Eclipse Awards are named after the great 18th-century racehorse and foundation sire Eclipse, who began racing at age five and was undefeated in 18 starts, including eight walkovers. Eclipse sired the winners of 344 races, including three Epsom Derbies. The Eclipse Awards are bestowed upon horses and individuals whose outstanding achievements in North America have earned them the title of Champion in their respective categories. Those awards are voted by NTRA, Daily Racing Form and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB). Eclipse Awards also are given to recognize members of the media for outstanding coverage of Thoroughbred racing.
