PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Huntington Memorial Hospital today announced that Kevin L. Andrus has joined the hospital as executive director, public relations, reporting to Jane Haderlein, senior vice president, external affairs.  Andrus comes to Huntington Hospital from Seton Medical Center in Daly City, CA where he has been serving as vice president of business development, marketing and communication since 2011. Prior to Seton, Andrus served as vice president of corporate communications for Orange County-based St. Joseph Health System, since 2004.

In his new role, Andrus' office will support Huntington Hospital's efforts to ensure continued access to high quality healthcare for the people of Pasadena and throughout the San Gabriel Valley.  He will also aid  the efforts of Huntington Hospital's Board of Directors and executive management team in their work to find new and innovative partnerships that will ensure affordable healthcare is available to everyone within the community.

"Our deeply held connection with our community is fundamental to our 120 year old mission at Huntington Hospital," said Haderlein.  "Kevin has great passion and dedication to helping our community improve the health and quality of life for the people who live here.  We are thrilled to have him join our team and bring his incredible energy to the people of Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley."

Prior to joining healthcare, Andrus enjoyed a successful career as a broadcast journalist having served as a senior executive for CBS affiliates in California, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.  He holds a master's degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor's degree in Electronic Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.

"I am honored and delighted to be part of Huntington Hospital.  This medical center is the healthcare provider of choice for more than 150,000 residents each year.  I have never seen a hospital more resolute in its commitment to the community it serves.  I am humbled by the dedication I see from Huntington's caregivers in the halls and on the patient care units.  I look forward to working with this devoted team of healthcare workers," Andrus said.

Andrus began his new role as Executive Director of Public Relations on Monday, January 14, 2013.
