Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Tekelec Ranked #1 Leading Independent Policy Vendor

Tekelec leads all independent policy management (PCRF) vendors through the first three quarters of 2012, according to vendor market share calculated by Exact Ventures. The analyst firm’s product revenue data through September estimate that Tekelec exceeded the nearest independent vendor’s revenues by nearly 60 percent.

For all of 2012, Tekelec won 12 new policy customers. Tekelec policy solutions now serve more than 60 service providers, including more than 50 Tier 1 providers, in 35 countries. The company also has five Tier 1 LTE policy customers in five countries.

In April, the company continued delivering innovations for its Policy Server with a new software release that supports monetization of over-the-top (OTT) applications, advanced shared data plans and location-based LTE services. In September, Tekelec announced a trio of new products that take policy “everywhere” – to mobile devices, analytics data and OTT applications.

Tekelec’s Policy Server is a key element of the New Diameter Network, a framework for managing signaling growth and profiting from mobile data. Diameter is the protocol for communications among policy servers, charging systems, mobility and session management and subscriber databases. Other critical components include Tekelec’s Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) and Subscriber Data Management products.

Last year, Exact Ventures also named Tekelec the dominant leader of the Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC) market, with 75% - 85% share.

“Tekelec increased its policy server market share and is executing well in this fast growing market. Flexible and scalable policy servers are key for operators as they look to accelerate their time-to-market for new mobile data services,” said Greg Collins, founder and principal analyst of Exact Ventures. “In addition, the synergies with Tekelec’s Diameter Signaling Router give operators new abilities to manage signaling traffic growth and improve the efficiency of their core network architecture.”

“The Diameter Signaling Router and Policy Server are a powerful and unique one-two punch for LTE and 3G mobile data networks,” said Houck Reed, vice president of product management and marketing at Tekelec. “The strategic importance of policy and partnerships with over-the-top application providers and mobile advertisers guarantee an increase in Diameter signaling as operators seek new mobile data revenues.”
