Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

MyFitnessPal and Compass Serve Up Nutritional Solutions

Tracking daily nutritional intake, even during a busy work week or catered event, is now simpler due to a strategic partnership announced today between MyFitnessPal and Compass Group North America. Compass Group, the leader in foodservice management and support services, has partnered with MyFitnessPal, the leading free resource helping people improve their health, in order to integrate Compass Group’s catalog of over 7,500 menu items with MyFitnessPal’s existing database of over two million foods, making accurately tracking calories and nutrients easier than ever before.

“MyFitnessPal is dedicated to making healthy lifestyle changes easy and accessible for anyone, anywhere,” said Albert Lee, co-founder of MyFitnessPal. “Our exciting partnership with Compass Group provides another seamless food-tracking option for our users who enjoy food at any of their more than 15,000 foodservice locations.”

Compass Group provides culinary solutions for millions of customers across the country, supplying recipes to vending locations, restaurants, corporate cafes, sporting events, school lunches, and a variety of catered events. As a result of the food database integration, patrons at any of Compass Group’s foodservice locations will be able to access accurate nutritional information effortlessly, via the widely acclaimed MyFitnessPal app or website, when dining away from home or trying a new dish.

“At Compass Group, our goal is to continually provide innovative solutions to support our 180,000 associates and the customers they support across North America,” said Deanne Brandstetter, MBA, RD, CDN, Vice President, Nutrition and Wellness for Compass Group. “Joining forces with MyFitnessPal’s valued nutrition service allows us to raise the level of service and show our customers we are invested in their health and wellness.”

As the leading resource for health and fitness tracking, MyFitnessPal is consistently rated as the consumer-preferred program for tracking daily food intake and physical activity. Research shows that regular tracking of caloric input and output is one of the most effective tools for weight management. MyFitnessPal puts this healthy practice at users’ fingertips for convenient and comprehensive tracking.

The partnership is part of Compass Group’s core value of making a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of its customers and the communities in which they live.
