(NASDAQ: PKT), the global intelligent policy enforcement company, today announced it has secured a multi-million dollar initial order from a Tier 1 Middle Eastern converged Fixed line and Mobile network operator. The operator is experiencing significant traffic growth across both fixed and mobile networks, and selected Procera to provide growth capability in the network core. The operator selected Procera's PacketLogic™ PL10000 platform for the network deployment throughout its footprint. Procera expects to recognize the revenue from this initial order in the first half of 2013.

The operator initially evaluated and selected the PL10000 for its traffic management capabilities to ensure a high quality of experience for its customers. The deployment has evolved to take advantage of the sophisticated network and subscriber analytics provided by the PacketLogic Intelligence Center and the PacketLogic Report Studio to create Intelligent Charging solutions across both fixed and mobile networks. This operator will also be utilizing Procera's ContentLogic product to perform content analytics and offer value-added services to their subscribers while offering Intelligent Charging services based on 3GPP standards. Using ContentLogic and other Procera analytics, the operator is able to quickly determine the services that are popular with its subscribers, and design new sticky service plans and marketing campaigns for its customers. The operator is also utilizing the Advanced Traffic Steering capabilities of the PL10000, steering specific subscriber and application traffic to value added service solutions.

According to Analysys Mason's latest forecast report for the region, The Middle East and North Africa telecoms market: trends and forecasts 2012-2017, Telecom revenue in the Middle East and North Africa is predicted to increase some 27 percent between 2012 and 2017, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5 percent, with revenue heading from $70.3 billion in 2011 to $96.4 billion in 2017. Mobile data is driving a lot of the growth, with handset data revenue predicted to jump 17.9 percent CAGR between 2012 and 2017.
