Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Vivint, the largest home automation services company in North America, today announced that Kristi Knight, vice president of corporate communications, was selected as one of 10 recipients of the 2013 SAMY Awards by Utah Business Magazine and sponsor Griffin Hill.

The SAMY Awards honor overall excellence and innovation in sales and marketing endeavors. Recipients of this award were featured in the January 2013 issue of Utah Business magazine and celebrated at an event on January 31 at Energy Solutions Arena.

“Kristi has been instrumental in positioning the company for future growth opportunities,” said Todd Pedersen, CEO and founder of Vivint. “Her experience and expertise in marketing and communications has been a huge contribution to Vivint’s success. This award is well deserved.”

Knight has 17 years of experience in corporate strategic communications and marketing. She was instrumental is building Vivint’s integrated marketing department that includes digital marketing, government and community relations, public and analyst relations, videography, design, writing and social media.

Knight led Vivint’s 2011 rebrand, which encompassed the reengineering of a traditional home security firm into a home automation company. Under her direction, Vivint launched a nationwide marketing and public relations campaign that included TV commercials and billboards, and secured coverage in top national consumer and business press, including The New York Times, Bloomberg, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, ABC News, TechCrunch, CNET and others.

Prior to Vivint, Kristi was senior director of corporate communications for Omniture, where she helped establish the company as the global leader in web analytics. In 2006, she guided Omniture’s communications through its IPO and its sale to Adobe for $1.8 billion in 2009.

Knight has also owned and operated an independent marketing firm, Envision Marketing Services, and has served as a communications executive at Red Rock Capital, Meservy Wing Snapp, and Solomon Advisory Services.
