Charleston Plastic Surgeon Lets Patients Take the Lead for Mommy Makeovers
Dr. Ram Kalus Works With Each Patient to Create an Individualized Treatment Plan

CHARLESTON, SC -- (Marketwire) -- 02/07/13 -- Dr. Ram Kalus, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Charleston, knows that pregnancy, childbirth, and breast feeding can dramatically affect a woman's body. At Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas, Dr. Kalus' private practice, many women seek to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies through cosmetic plastic surgery. With mommy makeover procedures, Dr. Kalus helps women counter physical changes from pregnancy that are not reversible with a healthy diet and exercise alone.

Approximately 60% of Dr. Kalus's practice is devoted to women who have had one or more children and are interested in addressing concerns with their breasts, abdomen, or face. The remainder of his practice is devoted to breast reconstruction after mastectomy, and facial reconstruction following skin cancer excisions. A mommy makeover typically consists of a combination of a variety of different treatments. At Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas, Dr. Kalus often combines procedures including:

  • Breast lift
  • Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
  • Liposuction
  • Eyelid surgery
  • Facial injectables

The specific combination of procedures for an individual's mommy makeover depends on the unique concerns of the patient. "The first thing I ask a new patient when I meet her is, 'How can I help you?'" says Dr. Kalus. His goal is not to dictate the makeup of the mommy makeover, but help each woman achieve her desired aesthetic results. As a rule, Dr. Kalus does not make any unsolicited recommendations, but instead offers his expertise and opinions so patients can derive the maximum benefit from their consultations.
