NTEC Announces the Appointment of New Executive Director

FRISCO, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 02/15/13 -- The North Texas Enterprise Center (NTEC), a leading technology business incubator located in Frisco, TX, announced today the appointment of John Miller as its new Executive Director. John replaces Larry Calton, who has served in that role since NTEC's founding in May of 2003. "We are very pleased to make this announcement," said Ken Hawari, Board Chairman. "John's experience and track record as a senior corporate executive and successful serial entrepreneur are well suited to advancing NTEC's mission, and we believe he will bring new energy and fresh ideas to the job of identifying and attracting high-quality development stage companies to Frisco," he added.

Mr. Miller, a long-time Frisco resident and former CEO of Plano-based YLG Holdings, Inc., has started, grown, and ultimately sold successful technology-based businesses. John has also held senior executive positions in the finance, consulting, renewable energy, and communications industries. "NTEC has established a strong brand recognition in the incubator/accelerator marketplace, particularly in medical technology and medical device, and I commend Larry and his team for growing the organization to this point," said Mr. Miller. "I look forward to working with the City of Frisco, the Frisco Economic Development Corporation, and the NTEC Board to write NTEC's next chapter."

John replaces Larry Calton, who worked with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) and Hall Financial Group to start NTEC ten years ago. "It has been my pleasure to work with the Frisco EDC, the NTEC Board, and the NTEC team over the past decade," said Mr. Calton. "I have long admired Frisco for its forward-looking leadership, can-do attitude, and business friendly environment" he added. "The Board appreciates the hard work and dedication Larry put into starting and growing NTEC over the past decade, and wish him the best in his future endeavors," said Mr. Hawari. Mr. Calton plans to continue working with entrepreneurs in North Texas and around the state.
