Speaker Bio:
Jason Waxman is a vice president in the Intel Architecture Group and general manager of the Cloud Platforms Group within Intel's Datacenter and Connected Systems Group. He manages Intel's business, products and technologies for cloud service providers, a rapidly growing data center business segment. Waxman oversees the company's technology development for cloud computing, including silicon components, optimized system design, data center management, security and facility optimization.
Waxman joined Intel in 1997 as a product marketing engineer and has spent his Intel career in enterprise and data center computing. Before leading the Cloud Platforms Group, he served as general manager of high-density computing and as marketing director of Intel Xeon platforms, leading the definition and introduction of several enterprise platforms. Before coming to Intel, Waxman worked in strategic planning and manufacturing for Emerson Electric, an industrial components company, and as a management consultant.
Waxman has held board roles in the Open Compute Foundation and the Server System Infrastructure Forum, and he managed Intel's role as technical advisor to the Open Data Center Alliance.
