(November 22, 2002) - Sharp Corporation's newly launched Zaurus SL-5600 PDA includes Insignia Solutions ' Java-enabling technology. Insignia's Jeode software enables Zaurus users to download and run Java-based content. The software makes it simple to migrate and run enterprise applications on the device, as well as content created by the estimated 250,000 mobile Java developers worldwide. The Zaurus SL-5600 is a Linux-based business PDA and wireless capable solution for enterprise users and professional consumers. Designed for the enterprise user with a heavy workload, the Zaurus SL-5600 features a high-resolution color-reflective QVGA LCD screen, a QWERTY keyboard with a sliding cover, extra-long battery life with a rechargeable, replaceable 1700 mAh battery standard, 64MB of protected flash memory, plus 32MB of SDRAM, dual expansion with Compact Flash and SD / MMC card slots.
