Three Tech Tools Every Company in the Travel Industry Needs | @CloudExpo #Cloud #Automation
There's no such thing as maintaining the status quo in today's travel industry

As soon as the internet became mainstream, the entire travel and hospitality industry quickly pivoted. No longer did people have to visit a travel agent to plan an extensive vacation. They suddenly had control over even the tiniest details of their trips.

Today, in order for companies in the travel industry to survive, it's necessary to recognize these changes and utilize the right technology to engage and convert customers.

Make Sure You're Using These Tools
There's no such thing as maintaining the status quo in today's travel industry. If you're standing still and trying to maintain, you're actually falling behind. When growth is the goal, there's only one direction - and it's forward.

Moving forward requires that you adopt a multi-faceted approach; however, don't underestimate the value and versatility of new tech tools. Armed with the right resources, you can serve clients like never before.

Not sure how to find the right tools for your company? You'll need to be hyperaware of what your team is doing. "To find tools that could help your team, do two things: First, observe the daily behavior of your agents and try to uncover problem areas," suggests TRACK, a leader in hospitality software. "Second, ask your agents what kind of tools they think they need in order to be more productive and motivated in their roles."

There are literally dozens of different tools available. You'll have to figure out what your needs are and which ones can add value to your bottom line. To give you a head start, here are three specific tech tools you'll most definitely want to check out:

1. The Travel Valet
Resources are often limited and it's hard for smaller travel companies to compete in a world where larger corporations have unlimited information available with the click of a button. Once you book a trip for a client, you don't always have the time to continually follow up with them. This is where The Travel Valet comes into play.

The Travel Valet allows you to provide added value to your clients without having to lift a finger. The Travel Valet program automatically delivers valuable information to the traveler as soon as you notify the system. This includes 10-chapter travel guides on the city or location they're visiting, destination-specific content in the days leading up to the trip, and even a personal concierge service to answer questions the traveler may have while on the trip.

2. Travefy
Developed specifically for group travel, Travefy is an online platform that makes collaboration between agents, clients, and other partners seamless. It has a shared discussion interface, customizable personal inventory library, automated itinerary updates, and more. Travel companies can create professional accounts and then encourage their clients to join the network to unpack these benefits.

3. Slack
We would be remiss not to mention Slack. While not exactly a travel-specific tool, Slack is something your team shouldn't be functioning without. It's a popular project management app that allows you to streamline communication between employees and stay on track. It's essentially a more powerful and efficient internal email system. Give it a try for a week or so and you won't regret it. There are both free and paid options, so you can pick the one that satisfies your needs.

Tech Makes the World Go Round
You can't sit back and get comfortable with your current processes and systems. They may be efficient and profitable now, but something else is coming down the pipeline that will eventually render your existing setup useless. Technology makes the world go round and you have to remain committed to moving forward.
