Harris County, TX, the 3rd Largest County in America, Selects Everbridge to Power Its Mass Notification System

Everbridge, Inc. (NASDAQ:EVBG), the global leader in critical event management and enterprise safety software applications to help keep people safe and businesses running, today announced that Harris County is the latest public safety agency in Texas to power its public alert system with the state-of-the-art Everbridge platform.

The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) has selected Everbridge as the new mass notification service provider for its Harris County Alerts system which will now be known as Ready Harris Alerts. The Everbridge platform can send messages via text, email, mobile app, voice calls, TTY/TDD, and social media, among other communications modalities, for reaching the public. Everbridge solutions also allow for targeted messaging that can either be sent countywide or solely to areas directly affected by a particular event.

Harris County joins hundreds of other local government and enterprise clients of Everbridge in the Lone Star State, including the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Corpus Christi, the counties of El Paso and Fort Bend, as well as Houston Forensic Science Center, Kosmos Energy, Rackspace, National Oilwell Varco, Memorial Hermann Health System, The University of Texas at Austin, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, University Medical Center of El Paso, and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

“We are extremely proud to be working with the largest county in the state of Texas to keep its people safe,” said Jamie Ellertson, CEO of Everbridge. “As we experienced from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Florence, and Michael, communicating quickly and accurately during a storm can mean the difference between life and death.”

In addition to its widespread use throughout the state of Texas, one of the key differentiators that led Harris County to choose Everbridge is the company’s partnership with Google Public Alerts. The partnership allows Everbridge’s customers to post critical information above Google’s search results and within its maps, increasing the reach of the notifications far beyond a client’s contact database.

Harris County residents are encouraged to register and to share this information with their families, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. New and current Harris County Alerts subscribers can visit http://www.readyharris.org/Sign-Up to register or update their information.
