Dont underestimate the SLA's role in accountability. For companies that have dynamic requirements and no down time can be afforded, make sure you have very tight SLAs. For example, OpSource provides a 100% SLA in the cloud and 100%SLA around production application environments. Now 100% is ideally perfect, it comes down to accountability, yo...

Ooyala Powers Video for National September 11 Memorial and Museum

Ooyala, a leading online video provider, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum to make video an abundant and accessible resource on www.nationa911memorial.org. Site visitors have easy, instant access to a rich, rare collection of video interviews, footage, and stories related to both the events of 9/11 and the plans for the National Memorial and Museum.

"The videos allow us to go deeper, educate, and recapture some of the inspiring feeling that came out of 911 and people are drawn to that," says Joe Daniels, President of the Memorial and Museum.

With this partnership, museum staffers have been able to quickly enrich the site with video by using the Backlot video publishing platform, rather than outsourcing the video workflow. By leveraging Backlot's comprehensive video delivery, analytics, syndication, and management features, video projects that previously took up to two weeks to publish online, now take only a few hours utilizing existing resources.

"Whenever you add additional layers to do something, it just takes longer, it just doesn't happen. So being able to manage the videos in-house allows us to do everything faster," explains Daniels.

Since implementing online video, the museum reports that time spent on the site per user has increased by up to 40%. Based on recent successes, the museum is formalizing plans to use Ooyala for online video syndication to educational outlets worldwide.

"Ooyala is honored to participate in the growth of an informative website that is quickly becoming a cultural institution," says Eric Morris, Ooyala's Vice President of Channels and Business Development.
