LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/30/09 -- Many trends, boosted by billions in ARRA stimulus funding, are converging to stoke excitement about "grid-scale" energy storage and advanced batteries. The future global market share for storage products and services has been estimated by analysts to be in the range of tens to hundreds of gigawatts. Infocast's second annual STORAGE WEEK, following its 2008 sold-out event, will bring together over 85 industry leaders from July 13-16 in San Diego to prime the market for storage technologies and applications.
STORAGE WEEK will tackle critical policy and market barriers and profile business models and case studies of market-ready solutions. The event will provide a robust environment for relationship-building between storage vendors and prospective customers/users and between investors and storage developers seeking venture or growth capital.
Three separate but highly complementary events make up STORAGE WEEK: The two-day Storage Summit (July 13-14) will examine the market design and policy issues that apply to all storage systems, as well as two separate tracks devoted to 'bulk' storage project development and finance (over 20MW) and 'distributed' (under 20MW) markets and solutions. A full-day Energy Storage Technology and Investment Outlook (July 15) and Storage at the "Edge": Opportunities on the Customer Side of the Meter (July 16) follow.
Featured speakers at STORAGE WEEK include R. James Woolsey, former Director of the CIA and currently Venture Partner and Senior Advisor with VantagePoint Venture Partners; Commissioner Dian Grueneich of the California PUC; and Barry Worthington of the US Energy Association. Dr. Imre Gyuk, Program Manager of DOE's Energy Storage Research Program, will provide a status report on ARRA funding.
The event is endorsed by the U.S. DOE, USEA, Electricity Storage Association, NEMA, Plug-in America, PLMA, WADE, and National Alliance for Advanced Transportation Batteries (NATBAAT). Sponsors include Haddington Ventures, L.L.C., King & Spalding LLP, Altair Nanotechnologies, Black & Veatch, Exide Technologies, Grid Storage Technologies, Ice Energy, Navigant Consulting, Prudent Energy, UC San Diego, Ardour Capital Investments, LLC, and Fefer Petersen & Cie.
Infocast is an event production company with twenty years of successful industry experience, including a highly successful series of Finance and Investment Summits in real estate, energy, fuel, healthcare and other industries.
